I’m a freelance journalist, currently living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I’m covering crime and drugs for Rolling Stone, environment and health for Outside, and art for the Santa Fe Reporter. I also write for various newspapers.
Previously, I worked at Outside, where I held an eight-month editorial fellowship. I started as a reporter in eastern Montana, before moving to western North Dakota to cover the Bakken oil play. My roles at community and regional newspapers included the crime and courts beat in Helena and reporting about the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes from the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. Before joining Outside, I contributed research and reporting to The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and VICE News.
I received a bachelor’s degree in literary studies from The New School and I am originally from North Arlington, New Jersey.
